Come with us on a 12-Day mid range group joining safari which traverses from Nairobi to Arusha, taking you for wildlife viewing in Samburu National Reserve, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Accommodation is in mid range camps / lodges and transport in a shared 4×4 with pop up roof.
Meet and greet at Jomo Kenyatta Airport upon your arrival in Nairobi. After a short introduction and briefing, you will be driven to Samburu through beautiful farmlands as you head north towards the semi-arid countryside of the colorful Samburu tribesmen. You will arrive at the lodge for lunch and rest followed by afternoon game viewing; animals in Samburu include rare grants gazelle, gerenuk, gravy’s zebra, beisa Oryx and other rare wild plants. As the sun sets you are transferred back to the lodge for dinner and rest.
After early breakfast, you will depart for a rewarding morning game drives within Samburu Park in the company of your experienced tour driver. Enjoy uninterrupted photography sessions stopping frequently to spot and observe animals in nature. Break for lunch at the lodge then after some rest, you will spend the afternoon inside the park watching animals and looking for the lion during the afternoon’s program. Settle back to your lodge in the evening for a relaxing bath as you wait for dinner to be served.
After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and drive to Nakuru Town which will act as a break from the long drive. You will arrive for late lunch at the hotel then spend the afternoon visiting Lake Nakuru National Park which is famous for the endangered white rhino and many other animals. After the game drive you will be transferred back to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Early breakfast is followed by check out from the hotel and transfer to Masai Mara by road. This park is a recommended all year destination for wildlife viewing. You will arrive for hot lunch at the camp then depart for an afternoon game drive for a chance to spot some members of the big five family. As the sun sets, you are transferred back to the camp for check in and rest.
Spend the day in the Masai Mara Reserve. Early breakfast then depart from camp with picnic lunch and enjoy an early morning game drive for a chance to see the animals as they hunt. Spend time exploring the marvellous and extensive Mara Reserve looking for animals and taking photographs. The driver will drive you at a leisurely pace as you stop often to enable you watch animals, take pictures and enjoy bird watching. You will also see the wildebeest crossing (if already started) and the large Nile crocodile at Mara River and also large pods of hippo at the hippo pool during your picnic lunch. If lucky, you may also witness an adrenalin filled cheetah hunt close to the river or in the extensive plains. In the evening, you will transfer back to accommodation for dinner and rest.
Spend another day in the Masai Mara Reserve. Early breakfast then depart from camp with picnic lunch and enjoy an early morning game drive for a chance to see the animals as they hunt. Spend time exploring the marvellous and extensive Mara Reserve looking for animals and taking photographs. The driver will drive you at a leisurely pace as you stop often to enable you watch animals, take pictures and enjoy bird watching. You will also see the wildebeest crossing (if already started) and the large Nile crocodile at Mara River and also large pods of hippo at the hippo pool during your picnic lunch. If lucky, you may also witness an adrenalin filled cheetah hunt close to the river or in the extensive plains. In the evening, you will transfer back to accommodation for dinner and rest.
Early breakfast then depart from the camp with picnic lunch and drive to Isebania / Sirare border point where you will fill in the immigration paper work before entering Tanzania. You will change vehicles at the Tanzania side of the border and proceed to Serengeti arriving at the camp in the evening. If time allows, you will have an evening game drive as you proceed to the camp arriving for dinner and rest.
Early breakfast then have a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park where you will start from morning to evening looking for the migration which will be around Northern Serengeti or at Mara River. The wildebeest crossing is very unpredictable so if lucky, you might see the Great Migration crossing the river. You will enjoy searching for big game, cats and may also experience some fantastic animal behaviour such as animal fighting, playing, hunts or kills or mating. Have picnic lunch during the game drives and later in the evening you will drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Early breakfast then have a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park where you will start from morning to evening looking for the migration which will be around Northern Serengeti or at Mara River. The wildebeest crossing is very unpredictable so if lucky, you might see the Great Migration crossing the river. You will enjoy searching for big game, cats and may also experience some fantastic animal behaviour such as animal fighting, playing, hunts or kills or mating. Have picnic lunch during the game drives and later in the evening you will drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Early breakfast at the camp then check out with picnic lunch and have a final morning game drive in Serengeti. This offers you a chance to spot more animals as you head out exploring the Ngorongoro Ecosystem. You will settle at your lodge in Ngorongoro crater rim later on in the day and admire the fantastic scenery around the crater rim; the lodge is perched on the crater rim. You can take a short walk along the area to enjoy the cool breeze and experience some birding.
Early breakfast then check out of the lodge with picnic lunch and enjoy a 6hr tour of the largest unbroken caldera which is home to the big five animals, flamingos, browsers, predators and herbivores. The temperatures are very cold in Ngorongoro (at times below 10º) so you are advised to bring warm clothing; you will then descend to the Crater floor where you will spend the morning enjoying game drives and photography. After the tour, you will ascend back to the crater rim and be transferred to Arusha where you will spend the night.
After breakfast you will check out of the hotel for a morning transfer to Namanga Border where after immigration formalities you will meet with your Kenya driver for a transfer back to Nairobi. The whole drive takes about 6hrs so you will reach Nairobi in the afternoon at around 2.00pm. You will have lunch on arrival at a local restaurant then later on you are transferred to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your international flight to your next destination.
